Their self-titled album, "Gloriana," debuted at No.2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, No. 3 on the Top 200 chart and spawned the gold-certified hit single “Wild At Heart.” It also cemented them as the best-selling debut country act of 2009. Gloriana won the American Music Award for Breakthrough Artist, as well as the “Nationwide On Your Side” honor at the CMT Awards. Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns Tour 2013 with Special Guests Mindi Abair, Gerald Albright and Richard Elliot features four of today's pre-eminent saxophone players, touring together for the first time ever. The evening, a celebration of the instrument that has fueled some of the world's best-loved songs, promises to be one of the high points of the summer concert season. Koz – hailed by The New York Times as "a musician of unflappable rhythmic aplomb, which he happily squares against the airtight funk of his band" – will be joined by Mindi Abair, featured saxophonist on the 2011 and 2012 seasons of "American Idol" who joined Aerosmith on their 2012 Summer Tour; Gerald Albright, known for his renowned solo recordings and performances with Anita Baker, Whitney Houston, and The Temptations; and Richard Elliot, a former member of Tower of Power who has since forged a successful solo career. With support from Dave's stellar band, they'll get the groove on, debuting songs from "Summer Horns" their forthcoming album. "Summer Horns" is a tribute to the great horn section bands in modern music (Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, Tower Of Power, Blood, Sweat & Tears, James Brown, Sly & The Family Stone) and is full of imaginative retakes on true horn-era classics. On tour, expect to see the Summer Horns playing gems from the album and the hottest hits from their individual catalogues, making this a not-to-be-missed night out for music fans.
